Timothy Busfield is facing his legal woes.

The West Wing alum surrendered to authorities in New Mexico, the Albuquerque Police Department confirmed to E! News Jan. 13, days after a warrant was issued for his arrest stemming from allegations of criminal sexual contact with 11-year-old twin boys.

Prior to handing himself into authorities, Busfield proclaimed his innocence, explaining that he intended to “confront” the accusations.

“They’re horrible,” he said in a video published by TMZ Jan. 13. “They’re all lies, and I did not do anything to those two little boys.”

The 68-year-old noted that he planned to fight the charges “with a great team,” adding, “I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong.”

E! News has reached out to Busfield’s personal attorney for comment but has not heard back.

According to the Jan. 9 warrant obtained by E! News, an investigation into Busfield—who is married to actress Melissa Gilbert—was opened in November 2024 after a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) alerted police of alleged sexual abuse, though the case did not meet authorities’ acceptance criteria at the time.
