Taylor Swift makes rare mention of dating history with ex Matty Healy in new docuseries: “Men will let you down, the Eras Tour never will”
Taylor Swift is opening up about her personal life in her new Disney+ docuseries, The End of an Era.
While the “Blank Space” songstress is often tight-lipped about her past boyfriends in any medium other than her music—or that one time she put Joe Jonas on blast on The Ellen DeGeneres Show—she made a rare mention about her most recent failed relationships in Episode 4 of the docuseries, titled, “Thank You For The Lovely Bouquet.”
“There were points in this tour where the tour was the only thing that was really keeping me going in my life. There were never points in the tour where I thought, ‘Oh, I want to quit the tour because the tour’s hard,’” she says in her confessional interview. “No, my personal life was hard. I went through two breakups on the first half of this tour, and that’s a lot of breakups, actually.”
“This show was what gave me purpose and was what I could use to get me out of bed,” she continues. “So, the tour has never been the hard thing in my life. The tour has been the thing that has allowed me to find purpose outside of the shit that was going wrong in my life. Men will let you down, the Eras Tour never will.”
So, what two men let Swift down during one of the biggest career milestones of her life? And what did she say about her fiancé, Travis Kelce? Keep reading for everything we know.
Who did Taylor Swift date on The Eras Tour?
When Swift started the Eras Tour back in March 2023, she was seemingly still dating actor Joe Alwyn, with whom she had been in a relationship since 2016. However, when he was noticeably absent from the early shows, rumors began to swirl that they had broken up earlier that year, with the news officially going public in April 2023.
One month later, Swift was rumored to be dating The 1975 frontman Matty Healy. The singer was spotted at the entire Nashville leg of The Eras Tour—both in the crowd and onstage playing with Phoebe Bridgers—as well as leaving Swift’s Nashville abode, and canoodling with the pop star at Casa Cipriani in New York City. And don’t even get us started on those, “This one’s about you, you know who you are, I love you,” messages they sent each other when they were both performing their respective shows.
With their flame reportedly burning out by early June 2023, Swift was finding solace in the recording studio, writing “The Tortured Poets Department,” a reflection on the difficult couple of years she had in the love department. In the series, Swift described the album as a “purge of everything bad that I felt for two years.”
“Feeling like I’m not a person, I’m just this big conglomerate that no one sees as a human being, especially not men that I date,” she says. “And in the whole process just being like, ‘Nothing works. There’s no one for me in the world.’”
Who is Taylor Swift dating now?
Not only is Swift dating, but she is ENGAGED to Travis Kelce. The duo first linked up after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end went to Swift’s concert at Arrowhead Stadium in July 2023, and he revealed on his New Heights podcast that he was “butt-hurt” he was unable to meet the singer and give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. By that fall, Swift was at nearly every Chiefs game—Super Bowl, included—while Kelce spent much of his off-time attending The Eras Tour. After filming her New Heights podcast debut, the NFL player got down on one knee last summer, after two years of dating, and proposed to Swift.

What did Taylor Swift say about Travis Kelce in The End of an Era docuseries?
Swift (and her family) couldn’t say enough nice things about Kelce in the End of an Era docuseries, especially when it came to the way they navigate their unique lifestyles.
“Relationships on tour has always been something I’ve really struggled with because it always felt like the tour was taking away from the relationship,” Swift explains. “Somehow, I was not able to do both and feel like I was nurturing both at the same time, even though I would try and try and try and try.”
However, Swift says there was a “dynamic shift” with Kelce that made their relationship different than any other one she had had before.
“We both have jobs where we go out in NFL stadiums and we entertain people for three-and-a-half hours. His with considerably more violence than mine, but he’s not in heels,” she jokes. “But it’s our passion. We’ve been chasing this since we were little kids. So, I don’t think I ever thought I’d meet a guy who had that same trajectory.”
She continues, “I’ve realized that with this person in my life, who’s just the right fit for me, you can have the two passions co-exist and they actually fuel each other.”
