Serena Williams Reveals the Tips She and Pal Meghan Markle Are Always Trading

Serena Williams can always count on Meghan Markle to be in her corner.

The tennis star, who’s been close with the As Ever founder for over a decade, recently shared that their friendship hit a new cozy level: they trust each other’s culinary skills.

“I’m always like, ‘Girl, what are you doing today?’” Serena, 43, said inside of Time’s 100 Most Influential People issue published April 15. “So we’re trading recipes.”

Their recipe trade-off is fitting, considering she and husband Alexis Ohanian—who share Olympia, 7, and Adira, 20 months—live on a “five-acre” ranch in Florida. And according to Serena, her family has fully embraced farm life. Throughout the year, they’ll grow “berries, tomatoes, kale, and other crops” for their meals while also tending to their coup of chickens.

“I never thought I had a green thumb,” she continued, adding she’s now a beekeeper. “We get so much honey it’s insane.”
