Ra Kumar Leaves UTA To Launch Osmosis Management With Chris Grant

EXCLUSIVE: Ra Kumar, who has worked at UTA for nearly 15 years, is the latest television agent to move into management.
Kumar is launching Osmosis Management as a division of Osmosis Global, the distributor set up by former Electus CEO Chris Grant.
He will rep companies including Texas Crew Productions, which is one of the companies that worked on Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, TeamSheed, which is behind Allblk’s Deb’s House and Warm Springs Productions.
The latter is run by Marc Pierce, who co-founded Osmosis with Grant in 2023.
Kumar will lead Osmosis Management from New York and will also work closely with the team at Osmosis Global.
That company has developed what it calls its “first-run studio strategy”, where it deficit-finances or fully finances original programming that it then distributes globally. Kumar will help expand this with talent deals, brand partnerships and co-productions.
It launched this with Saving Yellowstone with Dennis Quaid, a four-part series that recently launched on Discovery and Animal Planet in the U.S. The show, which is produced by Warm Springs, has also been sold to Paramount+ in Canada, TV2 in Norway and SBS in Australia.
“This moment in our industry is all about creative solutions and non-traditional dealmaking,” said Kumar. “I’m eager to embrace the opportunities with Chris, Marc and the team at Osmosis, while still getting to collaborate with my colleagues at UTA, who have also been my friends for 15 years. I couldn’t be more appreciative of their support as we launch this exciting new endeavor.”
Osmosis Global CEO Chris Gran added, “We have worked closely with Ra from the inception of Osmosis – first as our agent and now as a partner – and have always valued his unique ability to spot strong talent and IP and craft smart, strategic deals. We’re excited to take this new entrepreneurial swing with Osmosis Management and to grow the business together.”
