Police open investigation after body found in Llano River

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Llano County authorities are investigating after a body was found Monday afternoon in the Llano River.

Llano Police said the man, who is believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, was found by somebody fishing below the dam and near the Roy B. Inks bridge.

According to the press release, police said an autopsy was ordered to help identify the person and determine the cause of death. There weren’t any missing persons reported in the county when the body was found.

The Llano Volunteer Fire Department assembled a swift water team to help with the recovery because “the flow of water is higher than normal,” the release said.

Police said the investigation is “ongoing.”
