AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin’s beloved graffiti park will finally reopen this fall after years without a home.

The HOPE Outdoor Gallery announced a November opening on Instagram Wednesday night. The post did not share details, but according to the gallery’s website, the new location will be across from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

The original gallery launched in March 2010 at “The Foundation” on Baylor Street, according to the website. “The Foundation” was a failed condo development from the 1980s that was left underdeveloped until Andi Scull, the HOPE campaign executive producer at the time, turned the failed development into a temporary art installation.

The Baylor Street gallery shut down in 2019. Austin-based Cumby Group LLC purchased that 1.2-acre property and built condos where the graffiti park once sat.

The new gallery will be a 17.7-acre, open-air cultural events center, community art park, and technology gallery, per the website.

A piece of the Baylor Street location will live on at the new graffiti park, the website noted. The new park will feature a memorial wall from the old location, and it will utilize recycled concrete from the original site as a foundation for the new location.

The new HOPE Outdoor Gallery will be more than just an art park. According to the website, it will include:

  • Café
  • Rooftop bar
  • Art supply shop
  • Community programming
  • Flexible event space
  • Food truck park
  • Community walls
  • Local vendors
