AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is searching for a suspect who was involved in a south Austin hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist in May.

Police are also seeking the public’s help to gather information that may lead officers to identify and capture the suspect.

Around 11:44 p.m. on May 20, police said Bobby Wayne Carr was riding his bike when he was hit by a car in the 4100 block of South Congress Avenue. He was taken to a hospital for serious head injuries and died days later, APD said.

Austin Police described the suspect’s vehicle as a two or four-door style 2024 Black Ford Bronco with a missing front right side fender. Police added that there is possible “collision damage” to the front side of the vehicle.
