Wondery Strikes First-Look Deal With ‘American History Tellers’ Lindsay Graham
EXCLUSIVE: Podcast studio Wondery is taking a leaf out of TV studios’ playbook with its first broader deal with talent.
The Amazon-owned company has struck a multi-year first-look deal with American History Tellers host Lindsay Graham.
In addition to American History Tellers, Graham created American Scandal for Wondery.
The new partnership will mean that Wondery has a first-look at podcast series created by Graham and his company Airship.
It’s the continuation of a trend that began with Campside Media, which struck first-look deals with Believe Her creator Justine van der Leun, Sam Mullins, who is behind Wild Boys and Dr. Dante, and Sean Flynn, the man behing The Bering in 2023.
Graham will also contribute to the development, programming and promotion of Wondery’s extension of the History Tellers brand through books, live events, and other offerings. Last year, HarperCollins published American History Tellers Presents: The Hidden History of the White House.
Wondery is also behind podcasts including New Heights from Jason and Travis Kelce, Mind the Game with LeBron James and Steve Nash and Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.
“I’ve been lucky enough to work with Wondery since almost the very beginning,” Graham said. “For close to a decade, we’ve been on what I feel is a shared mission: educating while entertaining. So it’s exciting to embark on the next leg of that journey with more podcasts, but also entirely new avenues to reach history lovers—and those who don’t yet know they love history, too.”
“Lindsay and Wondery have had a successful collaboration for many years now,” said Marshall Lewy, Chief Content Officer of Wondery. “In that time, Lindsay has become one of the most trusted and beloved voices in podcasting, cultivated fandom, and created a broad slate of shows. It’s been a privilege to work with him and we are looking forward to continuing to grow our history footprint in collaboration with him.”
