CeeLo Green showed up at the 2026 Grammys sporting bright red contacts.
Does that make him crazy?
Possibly, but there was method to the madness for the 50-year-old, who at first played coy about his blood-red irises.
“What are you saying?” he teased Entertainment Tonight when asked about his eyes. “Are you kidding? I was born this way.”
Asked more pointedly what he was giving the crowd Feb. 1 at Crypto.com Arena, CeeLo replied, “Interesting, that’s all. Just keeping it interesting.” (See all the out-there fashion at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.)
He wasn’t alone in his pursuit, either. The five-time Grammy winner was joined on the red carpet by his son, whom he introduced as Layke (born Kingston Callaway to CeeLo and then-wife Christina Johnson). In his own quest for visual interest, Layke chose to wear a full face of KISS-style makeup. And while CeeLo (born Thomas DeCarlo Callaway-Burton) donned a cozy red, white and black sweater for the occasion, Layke coordinated with his father in a red mesh top, furry red vest, black leather pants and spiked black gauntlets.
